The Importance of Being Ernest

Friday 30th June 7pm

Saturday 1st July 7pm

Sunday 2nd July 7pm

Theatre in the Garden returns this summer with a comic classic from Oscar Wilde.  Performed by ImmerCity.

Bring your own picnic and settle into our garden for an evening of hilarity, high jinks and escapades.

The Importance of Being Earnest is the most renowned of Oscar Wilde’s comedies. It is the story of two bachelors, John ‘Jack’ Worthing and Algernon ‘Algy’ Moncrieff, who create alter egos named Ernest to escape their tiresome lives. They attempt to win the hearts of two women who, conveniently, claim to only love men called Ernest. The pair struggle to keep up with their own stories and become tangled in a tale of deception, disguise and misadventure.

Gates will open from 6pm.  Bring your own chairs, rugs and picnicking paraphernalia!

A bar will be available to purchase drinks on the night.

Tickets are £18 for adults; £16 for children and concessions.  Please call 01206 765034 to book your tickets or visit Brown Paper Tickets to purchase tickets online- limited tickets available so call now to avoid disappointment.

The show will go on whatever the British weather throws at us and tickets are consequently non-refundable.
